Bow River Fly Fishing Guides - Trout Chasers River Company Ltd.

Trout Chasers River Company Ltd. is owned and operated by Dee & Sherri Chatani. We are based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and offer guided fly fishing float trips on the lower Bow. In 1998 we officially incorporated the company, although our experience on the river dates back to the early 80's.

A 28 inch Brown trout, and Dee! Dee began fly fishing the Bow River in 1978. In 1988 he began guiding anglers full time. Currently, Dee guides on the river, teaches fly fishing schools and is a sales rep for several fly fishing product manufacturers including Sage, Scientific Anglers, and Idylwilde Flies. You can be certain not to find Dee at home during the season. Every spare moment he can find is spent fishing the Bow. Dee's intimate knowledge of the river's constantly changing moods helps to ensure that each and every day spent on the Bow is truly a memorable one.

Sherri with 23 in Brown. Sherri will definityly be on the river more frequently this year. The boys are growing up, Matthew's now 9, and Tysen's 8 and they have decided this is the year to "officially" start fly fishing. We shall see! Still, like every other year, any sized stick is perfect for rowing the boat. Of course, the bigger the stick, the more fun it is to row the boat. Likewise, the bigger the stick, the more of it there is for us to wrap a line around, just as that Big Brown takes off into the current!! Oh well, there's more trout Tysen and Matthew, ready to go! where that one came from right? Along with overnight camping trips and several day trips on Dee's days off, the boys landed their first fish last season. We learned they need to take turns fishing as inevitably they would cast over the other's line. Frustration, to say the least! As predicted, the saga continued of throwing stones, collecting sticks, rocks and feathers, and checking for bugs under every rock. Catching frogs must be added to the list however, as it provides a solid day of entertainment. Still have to say nothing beats the precious gift of crane fly larva from 2 little boys with big smiles and dirty hands. "Here Mommy, look what we got for you!" Thanks, but, EEEW!!

Our guides are experienced local anglers, able to both instruct the novice, and challenge the most experienced fly fisher. We only hire the best, most qualified guides.
